Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DictationAI, provided by Tran Trung Hieu (leaf2301) (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the DictationAI mobile application and related services.

By using DictationAI, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Information we process

Information you provide

Your display name and selected native and learning languages.
Vocabulary lists, words, dictation content, answers, learning progress, and app preferences.
Text or learning prompts you submit when requesting AI-assisted content.
Messages you send when contacting support.

Information collected automatically

An anonymous Firebase authentication identifier and installation identifiers used to operate cloud features.
Device, app version, usage, diagnostic, performance, and crash information.
Advertising information and interactions processed by Google Mobile Ads, subject to your device settings and applicable consent choices.
Purchase and subscription status supplied by Apple. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

2. How we use information

We process information to provide and personalize learning features; generate vocabulary and dictation material; save, synchronize, and restore learning data; manage usage quotas and subscriptions; display and measure advertising; diagnose errors; secure the service; prevent abuse; and respond to support requests.

3. AI-assisted features

When you request AI-generated learning material, relevant text, language selections, or prompts may be sent through our Firebase-hosted backend to Google Cloud Vertex AI and Gemini models. Do not submit sensitive personal information in AI prompts. AI output may be inaccurate and should be reviewed before reliance.

4. On-device learning features

DictationAI uses Apple-provided text-to-speech to play learning content. The Listen & Write feature uses Apple Vision on the device to recognize text from handwriting drawn inside the app. Translation Packs you choose to install are downloaded and stored in the app so supported translation content can be used during learning activities.

5. Local and cloud storage

Learning data may be stored locally on your device. Cloud synchronization and restoration features may store profile and learning data using Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase-managed backend services. Data transmitted to our services is protected in transit using HTTPS.

6. Advertising and consent

The free version may display ads provided by Google Mobile Ads. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalized, non-personalized, or limited. Google may process information such as IP address, device identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics, performance data, and approximate location derived from IP. Where required, the app, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, or Google’s consent platform will request consent and provide privacy choices.

7. Service providers

We use service providers only as needed to operate DictationAI:

Google Firebase for anonymous authentication, database, cloud functions, remote configuration, app integrity, crash reporting, and diagnostics.
Google Cloud Vertex AI / Gemini for AI-assisted generation.
Google Mobile Ads for advertising.
Apple for App Store distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and device services.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

8. Data retention

We retain information only while reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, satisfy legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Local information remains until you remove it or delete the app. Cloud backups and account-linked data may remain until deleted or until the applicable retention period expires. Service providers may retain diagnostic or transaction records under their own policies.

9. Your choices and rights

You may change app permissions in iOS Settings, manage advertising choices when offered, edit or remove learning content in the app, and manage subscriptions through your Apple ID. You may request access to or deletion of cloud-associated information by contacting us. We may need information sufficient to verify and locate the relevant anonymous installation or account.

10. Children’s privacy

DictationAI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no electronic transmission or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International processing

Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, they use legal mechanisms intended to protect transferred information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as DictationAI changes. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app where appropriate.
